Define the changes you want
Explain how the space will be used and what needs changing. A lighting project might involve different fittings or controls. Socket work might concern new positions or a changed room layout. For a larger project, identify the rooms and electrical work you want included.
If you’ve selected fittings or equipment, mention their details from information you already hold. Say whether supply of those items forms part of your request or has been arranged separately.
Keep intended outcomes separate from technical decisions. You can describe a need for different lighting or more convenient power points without specifying circuit arrangements.
Coordinate the installation with other work
Renovation, decorating and building work can affect the order of a project. Mention other work already arranged, the current stage and any dates on which your plans depend.
- The property type and London postcode.
- The rooms, proposed locations and changes required.
- The fittings or equipment already selected.
- The relevant drawings or specifications you hold.
- The access arrangements and preferred project timing.
If existing wiring also needs assessment, include that requirement separately. Describe records you hold rather than uploading confidential documents, and identify decisions still open for discussion.
